NASCAR Pocono 500 June 2008
Dates: 2008-06-08
The Pocono 500 is the first of two stock car races held at the Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pennsylvania, on the NASCAR Nextel Cup schedule in mid-June, the other being the Pennsylvania 500, usually held in July. The Pocono 500 replaced a 400-mile race at Texas World Speedway on NASCAR's schedule beginning with the 1982 season. Both the Pocono 500 and Pennsylvania 500 are unique in that they have no title sponsor, a decision made by track management in response to feedback from fans. Neither race has had a title sponsor since 1996.

Robin Trower Concert at Penn’s Peak
Dates: 2008-03-13
Robin Trower will be performing at Penn’s Peak The English rock guitarist, Robin Trower has been a staple on the music scene since 1962 when he formed the band The Paramounts. When they disbanded, he joined Procol Harum and remained with them until 1972 when he decided a solo career was more his style. Once he went solo, he found his individual identity and the style that has brought him much acclaim to this day. He formed the Robin Trower Band with bassist James Dewar and drummer Reg Isidore. Reg was later replaced by Bill Lordan. This was the band that he was with when he released his most famous album, 1974’s Bridge of Sighs.
